"My beloved sister, Olympia Dukakis, passed away this morning in New York City," the Moonstruck star's brother Apollo wrote via Facebook on May 1. "After many months of failing health she is finally at peace and with her [late husband] Louis [Zorich]."
Olympia Dukakis was an American actress, director, producer, teacher and activist. She performed in more than 130 stage productions, more than 60 films and in 50 television series. Best known as a screen actress, she started her career in theater.
